The initial visit usually lasts between 30-60 minutes and involves an examination of your oral condition including radiographs (x-ray images) as needed. Once the exam data is collected the doctor will discuss the findings with you and answer any questions you may have. A treatment plan, including a fee estimate and insurance coverage projections will also be presented. Occasionally, if treatment is needed, it can be done the same day as the initial visit. However, a complex medical history or treatment plan usually requires coordination with your general dentist and may therefore require additional visits prior to providing treatment. If your condition is an emergency, or if you are experiencing pain, we can usually provide treatment the same day.
Please assist us by providing the following information at the time of your consultation:
- Your surgical referral slip and any x-ray images if applicable
- All the completed forms provided to you prior to your initial exam
- If you have dental insurance, bring the necessary documentation. This will save time and allow us to help you process any claims.
IMPORTANT: All patients under the age of 18 years of age must be accompanied by a parent or guardian during the initial visit.
X-Ray Images
If your referring dentist has taken x-ray images, please request that they forward them to our office, prior to your visit. If there is not enough time, please pick them up and bring them with you on your first visit. Otherwise, we would be happy to accommodate your needs by contacting your dentist to forward your films directly to us. If additional films are necessary, they can be taken at our facility.
In Case of Emergency
A vital part of our service is being available for your emergency needs. Please explain your problem to our receptionist, who will arrange an immediate appointment for you if needed.
